Three posts a day for a month: an AI video generator vs SamayLine

A 36-second SamayLine sample video comparing two ways to post three times a day for a month: prompting an AI video generator yourself, or one setup meeting with SamayLine.

Read the transcript

Three posts a day for a whole month. Two ways to get there.

An AI video generator? 40 prompts and retries. SamayLine? One setup meeting, once for life. Then you just approve scripts.

The generator gives you video. Only video. SamayLine gives you video, carousels and image posts.

Then you download, upload and caption every post by hand. SamayLine schedules and posts them automatically.

So where does the generator win? Cinematic, photoreal shots. For a showpiece ad, it's great.

But if you need your business posting every single day, with every post tracked for results, that's SamayLine.

How much does social media management cost?

Social media management costs most small businesses $100 to $5,000 a month in 2026, depending on who does the work. WebFX, a large US agency, puts the average at $500 to $5,000 a month. The price moves most with one question: are you paying for software, for someone’s hours, or for finished posts?

These are published prices, not estimates. Here is where each range comes from.

  • Software. Buffer’s Essentials plan is $6 per channel per month. Hootsuite’s paid plans start at $99 a month for Standard and go up to $399 for Advanced. Both schedule posts you have already made.
  • Done-for-you services. Feedbird starts at $99 a month for 10 custom posts. SamayLine starts at $100 a month for 30 videos and 60 carousels.
  • Freelancers. WebFX puts freelance social media management at $100 to $5,000 a month, with hourly rates of $35 to $150 across freelancers and agencies.
  • Agencies. LYFE Marketing publishes packages from $750 to $1,550 a month. WebFX’s own social media service starts at $3,000 a month.
  • In-house. Indeed puts the average US social media manager salary at $65,623 a year, about $5,470 a month before taxes, benefits and tools.

What affects social media management pricing?

Five things set the price: how many platforms, how many posts, whether posts are video, what is included beyond posting, and the contract terms.

  1. Platforms. Every extra network adds work. WebFX puts multi-platform management at $500 to $5,000 a month per platform.
  2. Posts per month. Twelve posts a month and three posts a day are very different jobs. Always ask how many posts a price includes.
  3. Video. Short-form video costs more to make than image posts. At LYFE Marketing, 12 video posts a month cost $1,350, against $750 for 12 image posts.
  4. Extras. Replying to comments and messages, running ads and monthly reporting are often priced separately. Social media ad management alone runs $650 to $6,000 a month, according to WebFX.
  5. Terms. Setup fees, minimum contracts and cancellation rules change the real cost. LYFE Marketing charges a one-time $300 setup fee. Feedbird is month-to-month.

Cost per post: the number that makes quotes comparable

Divide the monthly price by the number of posts it includes. That single number lets you compare a $99 service with a $1,550 agency.

Cost per post is not the whole story. A post from an agency that also answers your comments and runs your ads carries more work than a post alone. But it quickly shows whether a quote is paying for content, for hours or for extras you may not need.

What is included, and what usually is not?

Most published packages cover making and scheduling posts. Comment replies, ad spend and strategy calls are the items most often left out, so ask before you sign.

Use this checklist on any quote:

  • Content. Who writes it, who designs it, and is video included?
  • Posts. How many a month, on which platforms?
  • Publishing. Do they post for you, or send files for you to upload?
  • Community management. Are comments and direct messages answered?
  • Ads. Is ad management included, and is ad spend on top?
  • Reporting. Do you get results each month, and do they change what gets made next?
  • Your time. How many meetings, briefs and review rounds are expected of you?
  • Terms. Setup fee, minimum contract, notice period.

To be clear about our own offer: SamayLine’s published plans cover making, publishing and tracking posts. They do not list comment and message replies or ad management.

Which option fits your business?

Pick by what you are short of. If you have time but no budget, use software. If you have budget but no time, pay for finished posts.

  • You enjoy making content and have a few hours a week. Scheduling software such as Buffer or Hootsuite is the cheapest route.
  • You need to post often and do not want to make anything. A done-for-you service gives you the most posts per dollar.
  • You want footage of your real business, your team or your face. Hire a local freelancer or videographer. No service can film your shop for you.
  • You need ads, community management and strategy in one place. A full-service agency costs more but covers all of it.
  • You post across many brands every day. Compare an in-house hire against an agency or service on total monthly cost, not salary alone.

How much should a small business spend on social media management?

What is a fair price per social media post?
Published packages range from about $1 per post for done-for-you services to $62.50 to $112.50 per post for small-agency packages that include page monitoring and ad setup. WebFX puts content creation alone at $40 to $150 per post.

Usually not. Most agencies quote management fees separately from the money you spend on ads. LYFE Marketing, for example, lists ad budget as separate and optional.
Is it cheaper to hire a social media manager or an agency?

Are there setup fees for social media management?
Some providers charge one. LYFE Marketing charges a one-time $300 setup fee on every package. Always ask about setup fees, minimum contract length and cancellation terms before you sign.
Where can I find social media management pricing packages?
The packages table in this article lists real published packages side by side, with posts per month and cost per post, so you do not need a PDF price sheet to compare them.
